Together despite pandemic: CLAIM’s third annual project assembly meeting

CLAIM held its third annual meeting from 2 to 4 November 2020 in an online environment, with the goal to improve the implementation of innovative technologies preventing marine pollution. Regardless of the limitations posed by Covid-19, the meeting was attended by all team members as well as the President of the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research Dr. Aristomenis Karageorgis, and the Deputy Minister of Development and Investments, Research, Innovation and Technology, Greece Mr. Christos Dimas.

The main objectives of the gathering were discussing the recent scientific achievements of the project, as well as outlining a deliberate plan for fulfilling CLAIM’s goal for plastic free seas during the 4th year of the project. Dedicated sessions for each project team assured that all members have the opportunity to give their input and vision for further tasks and activities on the CLAIM agenda.

The three-day meeting is deemed successful and impactful for the progress of CLAIM. All vital issues such as the project’s recent achievements, challenges and future updates were discussed. A coherent plan for next year, marked the end of the Assembly Meeting and promised a significant last year ahead for CLAIM.
