CLAIM explores new business models at the #NBM2020

CLAIM took part in the fifth International Conference on New Business Models (NBM 2020) on 1 and 2 July 2020. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the organisers decided to assure continuity of the International Conference and to go fully online. Five years down the line, each NBM conference followed a specific theme related to new business models. This year’s edition takes place under the motto ‘Sustainable. Circular. Inclusive’.

CLAIM partner and PhD student Hanna Dijkstra from the Vrije University Amsterdam held a presentation on the research topic ‘What role do stakeholder relationships play in upscaling circular business models for plastic pollution?’

Around fifty people ranging from academia to experts in business models and sustainability transition listened to strategies on how successful circular companies can scale up in order to maximise impact. Initial research results suggest stakeholder relationships are a critical factor needed for upscaling.
