CLAIM educates at the BlueMed e-training course 2020
CLAIM participated in the BlueMed e-training course on Understanding and Acting for a healthy plastic-free Mediterranean Sea, which took place in June 2020. BlueMed is an initiative, which aims at the spread of a healthier, productive and resilient knowledge of the values of the Mediterranean Sea.
All of the experts attending the BlueMed course worked together on Marine Litter and Blue-economy, with main focus on acknowledging different practices for more sustainable blue jobs in the framework of the circular economy strategy.
Throughout the e-training, CLAIM’s project coordinator Prof. Giorgos Triantafyllou introduced the topic of Cutting Edge Technology for Prevention and Removal. Aiming to display advanced knowledge of the various ways for ocean pollution and the innovative technologies to fight, and prevent it.
What is important to note is that BlueMed’s objectives are focused on supporting various EU policies and Directives and their implementation in the process of resolving marine, and maritime issues centered in the Mediterranean. Additionally, the initiative is concerned with providing coherent multi-disciplinary research on topics concerning the ecosystem, and further develops innovative technologies, stimulating the sustainable economic growth of the European maritime sectors.
The e-training resulted in impressive outcomes and CLAIM is delighted to share that the presentation gathered more than 400 participants from around 39 countries, both from the Southern Mediterranean and beyond. Additionally, the live stream of the webinar reached up to 2.500 views, suggesting the positive spread of CLAIM’s cause for pollution-free seas.
