CLAIM participated in the BlueMed e-training course on Understanding and Acting for a healthy plastic-free Mediterranean Sea, which took place in June 2020.  BlueMed is an initiative, which aims at the spread of a healthier, productive and resilient knowledge of the values of the Mediterranean Sea.

All of the experts attending the BlueMed course worked together on Marine Litter and Blue-economy, with main focus on acknowledging different practices for more sustainable blue jobs in the framework of the circular economy strategy.

Throughout the e-training, CLAIM’s project coordinator Prof. Giorgos Triantafyllou introduced the topic of Cutting Edge Technology for Prevention and Removal. Aiming to display advanced knowledge of the various ways for ocean pollution and the innovative technologies to fight, and prevent it.

Additionally, the initiative is concerned with providing coherent multi-disciplinary research on topics concerning the ecosystem, and further develops innovative technologies, stimulating the sustainable economic growth of the European maritime sectors.
